IF YOU ONLY KNEW

My own kiddies feel hard done by
With all that dad did not know
What he did not share
But while they are moaning
Cursing their fate, me
But a sudden chuckle
If only they could know
What their lives might have been
If I had learned all the lessons
My mother stabbed me with
The silence from my father
Cursed with a kin
Who would not mix with me
Abused by one or more
Oh my little kiddies
If only you could know
The hell that was my youth
Then perhaps you might shout
[for joy]
At what you did not learn
Did not feel
You had someone who cared
I had someone who sent money
Which is better
[although you already know your answer].
