IN PROPER PLACE

IN PROPER PLACE

The tree had withered
The water’s all gone
Yet we are born
The same as the fawn
Machines to dig
Allow us to stay
But what of the deer
That follow the day
Don’t we know yet
That in the long run
As go the deer
So too are we done
What’s that I hear
Bleeding heart you say
Oh, it’s much deeper
If man wants to stay
Nature gives life
And life gives us love
In the beginning
There was just the dove
Beauty in seeds
Came first, not last
And man was made
Just to fit the cast
If the nose’ gone
To spite the face
There’ll be no air
For the human race
Then try and brag
In the image of
But no one will hear
Not even the dove
Nature came first
And we were last
Destroy the one
We’re surely outcast
We don’t give life
We can’t bring rain
We can’t make the seed
What are we, insane.
