I sat many a time
Wondering just when
Would be the time
I see me at a working site
Wondering just when
Would be the time
Now, with sands almost run
With all the memories
In their place
I wonder now
What would be
My time is coming close
Sudden, the child in wonder
Of a locomotive
Around that sharp corner
Don’t blink
Or it will be gone
I see, finally
The wonder that is this life.
I sat many a time
Wondering just when
Would be the time
I see me at a working site
Wondering just when
Would be the time
Now, with sands almost run
With all the memories
In their place
I wonder now
What would be
My time is coming close
Sudden, the child in wonder
Of a locomotive
Around that sharp corner
Don’t blink
Or it will be gone
I see, finally
The wonder that is this life.
